WAOA: A Tale Of A General

First topic message reminder :

-A portal opens in the middle of nowhere. A rover moves through and looks around for a few seconds. This is followed by a man in CADPAT gear, who doesn't look older than 21, weirdly. He looks around, hefting his SCAR-A1 assault rifle.-

General Scott Mitchell: Well... not sure where we are, but the air's breathable. -reaches for radio- This is Mitch, we're A-okay. The rover's not lying, we've got an inhabitable environment here. Let's get our stuff through.

(OoC: Unlike the last RP I started, anyone can join.)

Mitch complied. After the shower, he dried himself off and spent a few minutes stretching, before heading off for breakfast at the Mess.

Cirno did pretty much the same, literally, joining him 10 minutes later, because of her hair, of course! "I wonder what's for breakfast...?"

Mitch replied, "Pretty much whatever you want."

"Octo... wait, what? Eh, whatever works. I'm not picky." :P

Mitch winced as he just took some toast for now. He quietly ate, then something that had been said last night struck his mind like a fifty caliber bullet strikes someone's skull. "You said you wondered if you were good with a gun, right?"

"You failed to catch the other meaning of it when I said it, though. And yeah, I do wonder..." She eats something, because, shy not?

"Dang. Shoulda caught that. Still, option's open. It would give you an alternate attack rather than just ice. Like, if somehow they were able to take away your ice powers, you'd have the gun there."

"True. Hmm. Tonight, then?"

"Sure, tonight." Mitch finished.

Cirno finished eating as well. "Alright." She headed back to the bunker and found a military uniform for herself, not worry about the wings since they're detatched from herself.

-Later that day...-

Mitch looked around for Cirno. After breakfast he hadn't seen her. "Cirno?"

Cirno came out, neatly dressed in a military uniform and saluted. "Yes, Captain?"

Mitch was dumb-struck, for around point five seconds. Wait... Cirno... in the army? "You don't have to join... I mean, it's your choice. And you must be behind. I'm ranked General now." He was still kind of dumbstruck at how Cirno HADN'T glomped him.

"I don't know military lingo, General. Sorry about that." She has yet to stop saluting. Doesn't he realize that I'm taking this seriously...?

Mitch continued to think for a few seconds. And then he relented. "Alright... if you wanna join, that's fine with me. Normally there's something against fraternization, but... we come back after we die, it's not like it'll be much harm. That, and America doesn't really exist, so I don't give a damn. Anyways..." He looked around at the signs. "Firing range is this way."

Cirno nodded her head, still saluting out of respect and followed. "Interesting... I hope I can handle a gun!"

Mitch noticed that Cirno was still saluting. "You can stop doing that now." They continued their walk to the firing range.

"Yes, Ca- I mean General." She does so and continues to follow. "From what I watched, you're not supposed to stop the salute till your superior says so..."

Mitch nodded. "Right. It'll take a bit for me to get used to you in the army, but... I'll adapt. A creed to live by, adapt or die. And here we are." Mitch entered the firing range.

"Would we be able to do both?" Cirno got herself ready, not sure what stance to take at the moment.

"I still don't want to die. Being a fairy just gives me a little bit of leniency on that part."

Mitch walked over to a gun rack and pulled out a SCAR-A1. He walked over to Cirno and gave her the gun.



(As it turns out, the SCAR-A1 is modelled after the SCAR-H CQC. In other words, the gun looks like the picture above.)

Cirno stared in awe at it and gripped it by the handle, pointing it the wrong, looking into the barrel. "Wow..."

Mitch winced. "Uh... that SCAR is loaded. You don't exactly want to use it that-way, it would be more deadly to you than the enemy. The barrel goes the other way."

"It does?" She turned it around, accidentally firing it, hitting a flying bird which goes down. A dog picks it up and chuckles and then leaves. "..."

Mitch shrunk back as the bird died. "That... that was very random. Nice shot, by the way. Anyways, the gun you see is a SCAR-A1. It's currently set on fully-automatic, which means that as long as the trigger is pulled back it'll keep spurting lead. If you don't believe me, fire a few shots down-range."

"Okay!" She aimed seemingly at random and started firing. A giant quack is heard as the dog comes back showing off 20 different ducks. "....Okay...."
