WAOA: A Tale Of A General

First topic message reminder :

-A portal opens in the middle of nowhere. A rover moves through and looks around for a few seconds. This is followed by a man in CADPAT gear, who doesn't look older than 21, weirdly. He looks around, hefting his SCAR-A1 assault rifle.-

General Scott Mitchell: Well... not sure where we are, but the air's breathable. -reaches for radio- This is Mitch, we're A-okay. The rover's not lying, we've got an inhabitable environment here. Let's get our stuff through.

(OoC: Unlike the last RP I started, anyone can join.)

Mitch smiled up as he deftly countered Cirno's attempt to bring them down. Though he had to admit, she almost got him. "I don't see why not. We're operating out of the bunker and the fire-base, and I think I'd like to sleep inside at least one more day before moving out here. We don't even know what kinds of bugs are out here."

They then ventured on the firebase. The solitary tank there - a lone M5A2 Schwarzkopf - stood on guard, flanked by a few M118 Fastback APCs. No helicopters yet. The firebase itself had set up sandbag walls, machine-gun positions, and it all surrounded the portal to the bunker.

"Home sweet home." Mitch muttered. John looked. "I couldn't agree with you more."

Cirno released her somewhat leggy hold on Mitch and flipped onto her feet onto the ground. "Sounds good. I think I'll head into my room for now." She unbuttoned her top button and left for a moment.

Random Ally Soldier: All ready, sir.

Mitch turned to the soldier. "Go do regular patrols. So far, I've only spotted one cluster of soldiers, it's alright to stop and take a gander at the wild-life. After two years in a bunker, you deserve at least that." With that, he left to go do the rounds - checking that everyone was working properly. There were no production plants - so the soldiers would have to be careful until they got a miracle.

Eventually, two hours later, it was starting to go through sunset. People were lighting lamps, but Mitch never really did like the dark, so he opted to retreat into the bunker. Once there... steel-gray walls met him. It was underground, one of the ways it survived.

The bunker was dimly lit... thanks to Cirno, typically.

"Hey, Mitchy..."

Random Ally Soldier: Yes, sir! *heads into his bunker*

Mitch kissed Cirno, which didn't faze the soldiers much. Sure, at the first public display of affection a few turned away in relative embarassment. But after a year of it, they didn't really care. They accepted it as normal and continued on

Cirno smiled and kissed back. "Too bad we aren't alone." She giggled. "But I respect that factor... maybe some other time, then." :3

Mitch smiled. "Well... we could go out and watch the sunset. I mean, it sounds cliche, but we've been two years without seeing it, we might as well."

"Alright." She got up, buttoned her top button, and carries Mitch there. :) "It's truly beautiful out..."

At first Mitch had qualms with being carried, but eventually he resigned himself. He had to nod. "I agree... it's been too damn long since I've seen a sunset..." He practically melted into Cirno.

Meanwhile, at the firebase, John was bored off his ass. He liked the idea of staying outside, but there wasn't anything to do, or anyone to shoot. He wasn't sure how they managed to keep making the 6.8mm ammo that the SCAR-A1 ran on - his assumption was that they did it using a factory from the outside that was a short distance away from the bunker - but he didn't question it, and he didn't need to.

He turned to Jordan Kowalski, one of his brothers-in-arms. "Hey, Jordan. You suppose anything's gonna happen?"

Jordan shook his head. "No. Peace and quiet's still nice, though, especially since we're back in a place that's green and not gray."

John nodded. "Too bad we don't have the CADPAT those Canadians used, it would help here. We're very visible in tan camoflague."

Jordan nodded. "Anyway... I'm on night watch." John nodded back. "Alright, see ya."

"Am I that hot?" Cirno giggled a little and let Mitch down, before leaning on him. :)

"How the hell did that happen... huh... nevermind." Mitch ran his hand through Cirno's hair blankly, enjoying the sunset, his first in two years. The SCAR was nearby - if those soldiers decided that it was a better idea to shoot first, and ask questions never, it was there. That, and he could reincarnate - the niftiest feature of the whole thing. He likened it to respawn. You die, and ten seconds later you come back to life. Nude, but back.

Cirno smiled, and looked upwards at the beautiful sky. "Truly beautiful... just like you."

Mitch didn't need to say much. He still kept a hand near the SCAR-A1 just in case, but for now they were two lovers enjoying a sunset. At base it was all it was, and all it needed to be.

Back at base camp, John had decided to pull out an NGP. Mitch had found a few while scavenging, and after repairs, managed to port several old PS3 games to them and handed them out. He wasn't even sure how the man found the downloadable content for them - but he did. For now, he decided to play Borderlands. That relaxed him, killing bandits.

Random Ally Soldier plays with his NGP as well, because, why not?

Cirno slowly closed her eyes, a permanent smile on her face. "Mmm..."

Mitch continued to relax, drifting off into a nap. Not like they had much to worry about anyways - reincarnation made death a slap on the wrist.

Cirno's thoughts were the same, though at the very least, they provide great distractions for their allies to shoot the enemies. Who doesn't like watching someone get dressed? "I love you, Mitchy." She gave him a kiss on the cheek and snuggled with him lightly.

Mitch subconsicously smiled wider, despite not being able to hear anything. Because he's unconscious.

Cirno smiled as well, despite not being able to see or directly tell Mitch's smile, she fell asleep on him. "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

And with that, the two dozed off in peace for a few minutes. Around ten minutes later, there was a small ringing. Mitch opened his eyes and slowly moved his arm up. It was nine, time to get back. And just as well, it was now almost dark. He began to lightly shake Cirno.

Cirno slowly opened her eyes. "Hmm...?" She immediately kissed Mitch on the lips and released. "What's going on...?"

Mitch kissed back, then replied, "As much as I'd like to say here... show's over. Time to get back to the bunker. There, we're safe." He continued to rest for a few more moments.

"...But we reincarnate... we're always safe... unless they can steal souls. But who does that?" She stretched for a bit and got up, smiling and put her hand out.

Mitch nodded. "The soldiers are still concerned for our safety. We may be fairies but they don't want us needlessly dying. Let's get going." Holding Cirno's hand with one, and picking the SCAR up with the other, Mitch began to head back to the micro firebase.

"...Touche." She smiled as they walked back together. "So why don't we have a bunker to ourselves? I mean, it's kind of wierd..."

Mitch looked at her. "We only had one bunker in the Fort Bragg area. Besides, if you're thinking about what I think you're thinking about, the walls are soundproof. No worries." They continued their walk through the forest.

"Yeah, but sending the soldiers who need to rest out so we can enjoy our time together isn't right..." Throughout the years, she's quite grown up in her ideals and beliefs. She was more respectful of other people, a godsend, really.
