WAOA: A Tale Of A General

First topic message reminder :

-A portal opens in the middle of nowhere. A rover moves through and looks around for a few seconds. This is followed by a man in CADPAT gear, who doesn't look older than 21, weirdly. He looks around, hefting his SCAR-A1 assault rifle.-

General Scott Mitchell: Well... not sure where we are, but the air's breathable. -reaches for radio- This is Mitch, we're A-okay. The rover's not lying, we've got an inhabitable environment here. Let's get our stuff through.

(OoC: Unlike the last RP I started, anyone can join.)

The soldier nodded. "Just try not to fire it on full-auto, it puts out shitloads of recoil."

"Understood!" She strapped the gun onto her shoulder, and aimed, with the safety on, of course. "I can't wait to try this puppy out."

The soldier then said, "Alright, you're clear to fire."

"Oh, yeah." Lilith smiled widely and went out to the range, and set it up*

((Ack, can't remember the settings.))

Cirno was asleep next to Mitch. "zzzzzzzz...."

The soldier walked up next to Lilith. "Just point the gun at the target, line up the iron sights, set it to single shot, burst fire, or full auto, then pull the trigger."

Mitch was also asleep.

((I meant to tell me out of game, but eh.))

"Right, Burst Fire." Lilith aimed and fired, hitting the targets quite well. :D

(It works, primarily because Lilith probably wouldn't know how a SCAR works.)

The soldier let out a low whistle. "Nice work, all the shots on target."

Mitch woke up to a crackling radio. He unclipped it. "What is it, Command?"

"The impossible just happened, Sir. There's a team in the bunker right now, they're JSF. The outside world's populated again... holy mother of fuck, the world's back..."

Mitch lay there in silence for a few seconds. He was almost sure he could, far off, hear the joyful crying of a younger version of himself. "You mean... the world's back?"

"Yes sir. And the war's been called off. Apparently the leaders had a premonition that the world would be destroyed and called it off. They didn't want anything bad to happen and reparations are being paid as we speak."

Mitch then shook Cirno hurriedly. "Come on, wake up..."

"Mmmm... Mitchy... right there... huh?" Her eyes slowly opened. "W-what's going on?" Cirno yawned.

"Thank you. I've had practice." Lilith just grinned.

The soldier then listened in to his radio for a second. What happened next was unbelievable: the entire firing range sans Lilian, Mordecai, Brick, and Roland erupted in cheers. Mordecai made his way over to Lilith. "What's going on?"

Mitch smiled at Cirno. "We've just re-established contact with Earth somehow. We get to go home..."

"That's awesome, Mitchy!!"

Lillian walked away again.

"W-what's going on?" Lilith blurted out.

Mordecai shrugged. "Hell if I know."

Mitch had a very bright smile on his face. "That means we won't be cooped up in a bunker. I also heard the war's over... everyone's gonna go home. I am going to personally thank whoever made this happen."

"Yayyy! No more fighting!" Cirno hugged Mitch as tight as she possibly could.

"Huh. Hmm."

Mitch hugged back. He felt truly happy. It was time to go back.

"Ready, Mitchy?"

Mitch shook his head. "I think the troops should have a little celebration out here. I'll still be co-ordinating the militaries but there won't be any more fighting."

Roland walked up to Mordecai and Lilith. "I figured out why they're celebrating."

Mordecai nodded. "Alright then. Why?"

Roland then explained. "It's because they just suffered an apocalypse that killed off humanity, and for some reason, the world was suddenly brought back. Through what means they don't know."

Mordecai had to smile at that, and he normally didn't smile at much. "Damn, those fuckers get to go back home, eh?"

"T-that's awesome!" Though that means less fighting for me. Lilith responded and thought.

"How do you want to celebrate?" Cirno smiled.

Mitch shrugged. "Probably a party in the bunker and out here. The men deserve it being cooped up in a bunker for two years in a row."

Mordecai nodded. "After having to kill everything I see I actually think it's nice to take a rest. I've got the best gun around... I just need unlimited cash and I have everything this freakin' universe owes me."

"I don't think your wish is possible, Mordecai. But yeah, no more fighting!"

Cirno mentally facepalmed. "Are we going to join them then?"

Roland nodded. "At least now we can take a break. Eventually we'll have to go back to Pandora though. Probably to get everyone who isn't a bandit off."

Mordecai shrugged. "My work won't be done then."

Mitch snorted. "Whaddya think? We'll be there too. We have to be there."

"Your work won't be done? What do you mean?" Lilith asked.

"I mean, we should celebrate by ourselves for a bit. That's all." :3

Mitch then got the point. "Oh. That'll be good."

Mordecai snorted. "Lily, the only reason I came to Pandora was because I was searching for what the universe owed me - a better gun and infinite cash. Pandora and the Vault was my hope for that, but then there was the Destroyer and a whole lot of other shit."

"Well, we all have our own reasons, Mordy."

And thus, Cirno and Mitch had a very good time.

Mordecai was silent at the exchange that just took place. I called her Lily and she called me Mordy... whoa, what? He responded two seconds later. "Yeah. And we ended up fighting The Destroyer, or Vagina-mouth Testicle-tentacles."

Lilith couldn't help but laugh at the description. "Yep, everybody fears the female tentacle monster."

Mordecai had to laugh too. "The fact we took down a monster that destroyed a civilization higher up than us speaks for itself."

"True, true. That was quite a feat!" Lilith smiled. "But that's in the past now, Mordy."
