Pokemon Thread

You know me and my obsession with Pokemon. Obviously this was going to happen.

So, who wants those Ruby and Sapphire Remakes?

Heh, Vriska talk is funny. And I don't see a reason why legendaries aren't chooseable. I also having a liking for Scyther and Togepi. And Persian.

Yeah, for type preferences, since I can't use my favorites all the time, I'm usually into Fighting, Psychic, Ghost, Electric, and Ground types. I have a few Bug, Steel, and Dark types I really like, but I generally don't like them any more than most other types. I also like a number of really cool Normal types, like Porygon and Castform. I pretty much never use Normal/Flying Pokemon (except Chatot), and I ignore most Water-types. I also tend to avoid Normal-types if they don't catch my eye. Other than that, I generally build my Elite Four team for type coverage if I have any open slots after filling the team with Pokemon I really like.

Also of note is my favorite double battle team of Gardevoir and Gallade, since I bred them both from the Gardevoir I used in Ruby version. They're twins! :D

Haven't gotten a Gallade yet, or a lot of pokemon, really. Also, my only problem with diamond and pearl is having to catch the legendary pokemon before the last gym badge. Kind of stupid. It shouldn't be that early in the game.

Well, it's only one of six (seven if you count the other version), so it's not like you don't have legendaries to catch. Also, Gallade is coooooooool, he gets like all of the +Critical moves.

Gen 4 was overloaded with Legendaries. Also, way too many dragon legendaries overall for my tastes. Loses its appeal, really.

Legendaries in general are easy to find, so a Dragon Legendary means the dragon itself isn't much of a rarity anymore.

Well, Dragons are powerful Pokemon, so to diversify their type combinations, it looks like they've decided to make them Legendary. I never used many Dragons, the type seems sort of unnecessary, overall.

Let me be more specific. Legendaries are(with some exceptions) mandatory or easy to find. Putting dragons as legendaries literally decreases the rarity of said dragon. Gible was hard to find. Mandatory Legendaries like Dialga... are not.

Well, it's not really that dragons are hard to find that makes them "rare", it's more the fact that there aren't many of them, proportionate to other types. The only other type that's got such few members is Ghost.

It's not just that, but making Dragons Legendaries as well makes them less rare in that sense as well. It's a poor way to put out more dragon types. The only generations to have no dragon legendaries are the first two.

Well, the extant dragons, save Kingdra, are all semi-Legendary in their own right. It's not so much about rarity as it is difficulty in catching them. Legendaries are hard to catch because they're Legendaries. The other Dragons are hard to catch because they're hard to find.

What I'm saying is that Dragons are meant to be rare. They're not when they're forced into Legendary roles. It ruins the entire idea. I think you've been misunderstanding what I'm saying. They no longer feel unique anymore.

I always felt they represented power. Dragon is generally the best type in the game to have, especially now that there are useful Dragon attacks.

Psychic represented power, really. Dragons had the feeling of being the biggest bruisers around. Legendaries are already superpowerful.(rare exceptions may apply) A dragon legendary is just broken in general because of that.

I'm confused, because when I think a Pokemon is "Rare" I mean in an in character, in game sense. Like the legendaries are rare, because there are so few of them. I like to think in character when playing a game, since I generally play for the story. I see no problem with dragons being legendary, because that just makes dragons more special. And that is what dragons are suposed to be, special.

Got to agree with Mimi on this, and that's all I'll say on the su8ject 8ecause I really don't want to get into a de88 or 8e told I'm "not understanding" or anything. (ok, "debate" looks so wrong in Vriska-speak!)

Just got special Celebi for to get Zorua when Black and White are released (US Pokefans, go to the wireless and Mystery Gift one up for yourself, they're available until the fifth).

I don't have Black and White just yet. And my possible ride is gone as well to pick up the copies. I hate how short the events are myself. Sucks for people living in Wisconsin...

Also: ...Of course nobody agrees with me. Again. *sigh*

Black and White aren't out until Sunday. The Celebi thing is for D/P/P/HG/SS.

Well, since the Cele8i thing supposedly goes -through- tomorrow, I should 8e a8le to get one when I go out tomorrow.

In Black, I actually named my character Shadow. I know it was a terrible pun in itself.(but hey, Shadow was my most second active character in HSAU.) No, he doesn't use Dark types, though I do like to use Bite often. :P

Me, in my Pokemon Black game, I called my Pokemon Trainer "Rika". And a few things happened during my first few weeks of play. Namely, finding and capturing a Shiny Deerling. And it was one of those random encounters, too, while I was trying to find a Foongus with a Balm Mushroom.

And it looks like in the official site, one can play a new mini-game in order to get one of the seven Eeveelutions when the Pokemon Global Link site's finally up and running. The problem is, I don't know which one I'd like...decisions, decisions...

Eeveelutions........ I would go for Espeon or Um8reon, since those are my favor8s.

No shinies in White yet, 8ut I don't think I've ever had a random shiny encounter in any of my games (Red Gyarados is a plot point and does not count). I keep getting too 8usy to play so I haven't played a lot 8ut I've got four 8adges now.

And some of these new Pokemon are just so adora8le.

The only thing is that you have to be a Pokemon Trainer's Club member in order to play. And there's four levels. I tried to beat it, but the farthest I got was the fourth level and lost. It's not easy, playing on a laptop.

And, yep, some of the Pokemon are adorable. But my favorite has to be Foongus. I will admit that I used to hate Victini, but after catching it and training it, the little guy's growing on me.

It's hard to pick a favor8 from the new ones for me. There are so many I like. I'll w8 til I've gotten to use more of them in game 8efore I decide for sure, at least when it comes to using them.

Heck it's even hard to pick one 8ased on looks 8ecause there is so much cuteness.
