Mysteries of the Arcane Ruin

The year is 1620 in the world of Rylant, where myth and magic reign supreme. For as long as people can remember, it's two huge continents with the Elves, humans, Dwarfs...all of the races living on the south Triarria with little idea on what lays on the Northern Continent.

Some say dragons. Others say an unspeakable evil waiting to move forth and conquer the world and a fair few see it as a possible paradise as the only consistent factor between these rumors is that none have returned alive.

Until now. A weary traveler returning from the Northern Continent has taken refuge in the town of Yendel. Rumors soon spread across the world of the one who knew the way into what mysteries laid in wait to the North. Incredible riches, powerful magical artifacts, things the world has never seen drew many to this traveler, yet none of them had never returned.

In any case, all of you arrive at the town of Yendel after hearing the rumor, each of you here for your own reasons. The question is...what will you do first?

"Been playing since I could walk."

"Well, with that out of the way, I think we might have the starting of something here. In any case, I should probably send this lad along with you." the traveler calmly remarks, lightly pushing the cloaked figure.

"Sheesh! Fine, fine. I hate walking all over the place, but I guess..."

The traveler nods.

"Then it's agreed. Perhaps you could stand to increase your numbers some more, though..."

"That would be a good idea... Should probably get some gear, too."

Somewhere outside of town, a yellow antenna sprang to life.

It didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the environment; wires were sprouted all over it, as well as a hologram of a hand with a finger raised. The lights over it turned to white. A circular tunnel appeared next to it, and spat out a soldier.

Roland, former Crimson Lance, and current Vault Hunter, got up and scratched his head. "Now where'd I end up?" He looked around. The Soldier decided to press onwards towards the lone town he could spy.

People outside and about the town idly glance at Roland, looking a little confused, but decide to wisely keep their distance. The marketplace seems to be a bit more active, with stalls selling various goods from fruit and food to equipment like ropes.

"Well, your best bet is either the marketplace or the armor nearby. Once you've gathered enough people, head back here." the traveler nodded. "And you keep an eye on them, lad. They could use an extra set of hands and a sword."

The cloaked figure sighed and nodded in reply.

"Fine, fine. If we're going to go shopping, we might as well get it over and done with."

Roland continued to approach the town. It seemed a bit... backwards...

He kept his Ogre inside his Storage Deck, just in case.

"Fine by me."

"Same here, exxcept what I played wasn't a sport, but instead an instrument."

"Looks like we have some similarities, at least."

A guard glances at Roland with a cautious eye and approaches. He's fairly tall and covered in plate-mail, with a rugged looking beard.

"...Something you need, newcomer?"

"Then we'll head down to the armory first. Unless you guys need supplies, in which case...marketplace. I've been here for a few months now, so I know how things work..."

Roland looked at him with an equally critical eye.

"Mind tellin' me where I am?"

Bradman gives a small smile at Aurora before nodding to the cloaked man.

The guard contemplates the question for a moment before nodding.

"The town of Yendel. The second town away from the North and right on near the ocean."

The cloaked man nods before heading outside with a twirl of his cloak, obviously trying to get this over with as fast as he can.

Roland nodded. "Thanks."

He then headed into the town proper, making his way towards the marketplace.

Kris follows the cloaked man.

Aurora follows as well, mumbling something about "yeah, might need something for self-defense..."

Bradman follows, whistling.

The cloaked man nods, quietly strolling down the street and doing well at not drawing attention to himself as they finally arrive at the Marketplace which is practically booming with activity.

Roland looked around, keen eyes trying to spot anything important to him.

Bradman would likely see a stall a bit out of the way selling what seems to be...some cricket balls and supplies to keep such equipment in good shape. Kris likely stumbles across a simple looking book stall which has little notice while Aurora could find a few magical wands which look quite new.

Oh. And Roland would just barely see the group.

Roland squinted. There was a group of people there...

He wondered briefly if he should go over to them. He decided that he might as well, and walked over.
