Mysteries of the Arcane Ruin

The year is 1620 in the world of Rylant, where myth and magic reign supreme. For as long as people can remember, it's two huge continents with the Elves, humans, Dwarfs...all of the races living on the south Triarria with little idea on what lays on the Northern Continent.

Some say dragons. Others say an unspeakable evil waiting to move forth and conquer the world and a fair few see it as a possible paradise as the only consistent factor between these rumors is that none have returned alive.

Until now. A weary traveler returning from the Northern Continent has taken refuge in the town of Yendel. Rumors soon spread across the world of the one who knew the way into what mysteries laid in wait to the North. Incredible riches, powerful magical artifacts, things the world has never seen drew many to this traveler, yet none of them had never returned.

In any case, all of you arrive at the town of Yendel after hearing the rumor, each of you here for your own reasons. The question is...what will you do first?

"...what can you tell me about dragons?"

The weary man blinks for a moment and then shrugs.

"Nay, the lad merely tends to sleep a lot. It's hard to tell when he's awake or asleep considerin' his outfit."

The cloaked figure blinks for a moment and gives a small yawn stretching a little while his companion folds his arms at Aurora.

"Well, lass, they're certainly not to be trifled with. I was lucky to escape with my life from a Black Dragon. They're certainly foul things...catching and letting their prey rot before devouring it...or the Green Dragons which are sly and can't be trusted. Unless ye have the equipment for slayin' them...I'd keep my distance."

Kris sighs, and shakes his head, to clear his mind. He then gets up, and glances around the room.

"I see..."

"...I was more talking about things like "where can you find them" and such..."

"Yer seeking the dragons? Surely yer must be joking." the man sighs, rubbing his scarred face. "Ye'd be lucky to make it to the caves on the northern mountains or the catacomb east of the forest. A single warrior can't hope to face them on their own, yer realize..."

The cloaked figure sits up, face obscured by shadow.

"...Someone talking about me...?"

Kris would see the bar's still the same as before, probably a little emptier for the time being as everyone's glancing at the weary traveler, curious.

"Perhaps, mate."

Kris walks over to the traveler, to hear what he has to say.

"So? It's not like I intend to go alone." >:)

The cloaked figure yawns, his voice a little young.

"Well a simple yes or no would suffice. Not exactly fond of people talking about me..."

For a moment, the world-weary traveler thinks and folds his arms.

"Certainly a start. If yer all heading to the North, yer might find it easier if the three of yer grouped together." he blinks at Aurora's comment and nods. "Aye, the lass has the right idea. If yer travel as a group, yer'd be able to possibly fight off anything..."

"Grouped together? I'm wondering why I should trust them."

"Why shouldn't you trust me? I'm just a wandering scholar..." :c

[Diplomacy Check?]

[Yes. Aurora, make a Diplomacy check. Bradman, make a Sense Motive Check.]

The traveler shrugs.

"Well, yer both after opposite goals, I take it? You'd still end up accomplishing them both in the end."

Meanwhile, the cloaked figure sighs.

"...Do I have to go with these guys too? I'm getting tired of walking back and forth all over the place..."

[14] "Oh, yeah, makes sense for you to be careful. But I can assure you you can trust me..."

"Why?

"Because I don't have any reason to harm you! I don't even know your name..." :c

"You say so...."

Kris just listens to Aurora and Bradman for now.

"Well, would it help you if I introduced myself first? I am Aurora. Aurora DiFresca. Wandering Sorceress and Scholar."

"Bradman. Cricket player and wanderer."

"...cricket?"

"Yeah." Bradman then proceeds to explain the basics of the sport.

"Oh my, that sounds... exciting." :o

"Hmm... I see..."

"Been playing since I could walk."
