Interdimensional War - The Startup

Mitch, when he was younger, loved to play with airplanes. One day he rose an airplane into the sky and imagined he was in it. He was eight. His mother smiled and patted him on the head.

Four years later, his mother died. And several more years later, he was actually on an airplane in the sky, though for reasons that he didn't exactly like. He was heading off to oversee the activation of some sort of portal the techies in Washington had made.

Cheyenne Mountain

Mitch stood in front of the portal. He, along with a crack security team, would be the first responders. They were all armed - Mitch carried an ACR, a change from the XM8 or SCAR-L he was normally issued. For now, he overseed the portal activate.

(OoC: Alright... might as well make it clear, this isn't We Are Our Avatars related. It might migrate to TV Tropes later, but maybe not. I was kind of pressed as to where to put it, and seeing as there's no general roleplay forum, I'll place it here for now. sunova, if you would add that in?

Anyways, for now, playable characters include anyone from any military - regardless of rank or status. The military in question has to be from another universe but otherwise you have zero limits aside from godmodding armies that could easily crush galaxies under their weapons, i.e. NO REAPERS, DAMMIT.)

Mitch did not hesitate as he pulled a prototype semtex grenade off of his belt. Shouting, "STICKY OUT", he threw the grenade as it beep-beep-beeped into the Mammoth, detonating with a loud explosion. Raising the ACR, he keyed the mic. "We need security teams here now! Cleanup crews on standby!"

The intercom roared to lift again. "ETA 20 minutes for brass arrival." Mitch looked to Talon. "We've got twenty minutes to kill aliens."

Talon : Fighting Buzzers indoors is suicide... dont do it, they are like flying razor blades.

Mitch began to grow frustrated. "Unfortunately, inside is the only place we can fight them! The press is practically surrounding Cheyenne, it's not like we can just go outside, let some aliens come out, then kill them! We have to kill them in here... the way I see it, it's the only way other than just using heavy weapons and destroying that tank."

Talon : *holding Mitch back* You don't get it do you ? a swarm of buzzers versus even 38 soldiers inside the buzzers win...

Mitch looked at Talon. "Well I don't see any other fucking way we can kill them! What the fuck is the press going to think if they see two soldiers, one they don't even know, shooting at a bunch of flying fucking razor blades? We're in a goddamned Catch-22 situation here... if we don't kill them, they kill us, so to kill them we need to go outside. But the press is fucking everywhere, despite what we do they WILL get footage, and next thing you know the entire god-damned nation is under panic because of an alien invasion!" He was starting to grow frustrated.

Talon : Be glad they are only buzzers... not a mother ship, my suggestion rig the exits with explosives.

The security team arrived, and Mitch held them back. "Any of you have C4? Rig the exits with it. All of it. Claymores too." Mitch unbuttoned a pocket and pulled out his own C4 charges. Running to a door, he began to slap them onto the exits as the security team did the same.

Talon : simple, now the buzzers are traped...

(ooc: considering this was supposed to be military I was working on bringing in an antagonist is that ok ?)

(OoC: That's alright. I mean, it doesn't have the title "Interdimensional War" for nothing.)

Mitch finished putting the C4 down. "Talon, one, thanks for the plan, two, get yer ass back behind the doors!" He retreated past the exits, detonator in hand.

-Buzzers start flying through the door-

As soon as the Buzzers started flying through the doors, Mitch and the security team pressed the detonators and drew their weapons. The security teams carried M4A1 Carbines, whereas Mitch carried his ACR. The C4 blew up with a tremendous explosion, which would probably kill some buzzers and heavily wound others, leaving very few unscathed.

(ooc: They are literally flying razor blades, the same size as them even they are very fragile... but they swarm)

After a few scans, one of the security officers clicked on the com, "Clear." The rest checked in. After a few more seconds of wary looking, the Captain keyed his mic. "Clear. Disposal teams, down to portal level."

He turned to Talon. "Thanks, saved my ass back there."

Talon : I don't believe you ever sa.... *helmet is looking up*

Mitch didn't even need to look up, he pulled a semtex and threw it onto the ceiling. It detonated fast, and he began to burst-fire. "Tangoes on ceiling, open fire!" The rest of the security team began to open fire with their M4s.

Talon : That wont do you any good, it is out side...

The teams stopped firing. Mitch looked up. "Awww.... SHIT!"

He quickly keyed the mic. "This is Captain Scott Mitchell to all headquarters, we have an unidentified object confirmed hostile! Repeat, confirmed hostile! Dispatch any and all squadrons quickly, mobilize all military elements!"

"What about the press?" Mitch scoffed. "They already fucking know... it doesn't matter what we do."

Talon : ... I would more worry about getting all ground forces out of the area, that thing fires a catalyst cannon, every thing with in 300 meters of impact explodes 10 seconds after it fires, every thing within 30 meters of the smaller blasts explodes 10 second later, and that continues ...

Mitch stared at Talon in disbelief. He keyed the mic. "This is the Captain... get all ground forces out of the area, get all civilian forces out of the area. I don't care who runs this place, I'm ordering a full-scale evacuation of Cheyenne Mountain! Techs, find a way to shut that fucking portal down!

He looked over at Talon. "Alright, if what you say is true, we need to get the fuck out of here, five minutes ago!"

Talon : I think the cannon is the least of our problems ...

Mitch stared for point three seconds. "Oh... SHIT..." Without any warning, he grabbed Talon by the wrist and pulled the GDI soldier off, beginning to run. He tossed a flashbang grenade back at the enemies, then keyed mic. "This is Captain Mitchell, prepare all military elements, we are under alien attack! Don't believe me, ask the fucking mothership in the sky right now!"

There was silence for a few seconds. "Roger that, we are activating all necessary elements of the military and we're currently trying to figure out how to shut down the portal. Leave Cheyenne and head back to Ghost Base, we'll regroup from there."

Talon : If you are lieing about that ion cannon now would be the time to use it ...

E.V.A. : Ion cannon strike would eliminate 96.7% of all hostiles.

Mitch keyed the intercom. "Command, is there any sort of orbital bombardment weapon we can use?"

The response was short. "Negative, there are no plans. Seriously, I'm the General and I haven't heard of any plans. We've got no space weapons, there's supposed to be a treaty against arming space. Out."

Mitch swore. Very loudly. "What about dropping an MOAB?"

"That could work. ETA two hours."

That only caused Mitch to swear again.

Talon : Two hours ? by then they will have blink packs...

Mitch swore again. "Blink packs? That doesn't sound good... is there any way you can immediately attack?"

"Negative, we need to evacuate civilians. The MOAB is our best option."

This led to a cluster F bomb from Mitch.

Talon : Congratulations, your at war....
