    First topic message reminder :

    Well, considering the lack of actual DnD/Tabletop gaming that happens here...I think I might try to remedy that since it might end up being fun. Since I only have rulebooks for 3.5, I'll be using the rules for that.

    This will probably be a fairly big project, what with their maps, grids for combat so people playing don't get lost and can see what is where.

    Now, there's obviously going to be a few things to make it interesting. Provided it can be converted into DnD terms, you'd probably be able to play it provided it isn't completely overpowered (or if it IS, then it has horrible drawbacks.) Generally, they'd have to have a 'class', though. (I.E, Fighter, Barbarian, Druid, Cleric, Wizard, Sorcerer, Paladin, Bard, Rouge, Monk or Ranger.)

    As for the plot? Or at least the first bit of it?

    'In the land of Salidun, a land of medieval times, with magic and mysteries yet to be discovered, from the earth emerges a mysterious and ancient ruin from eons past. Rumors have it that countless riches and magical artifacts lay in wait for brave adventurers to find them...'

    Anyways, that's that. If we get interest, I'll put up the format for character sheets and the like. :)

    What Those Spells DO

    Level 0:

    Fleeting Flame - Gives a +2 bonus on one Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate check
    Silent Portal - Negates the sound made from a door/window opening.
    Read Magic - Can Read Scrolls/Spellbooks.
    Detect Poison - Can Detect Poison in an Object/Person.
    Ghost Sound - Makes a Sound to Distract Opponents.

    Level 1:

    Ice Dagger - Deals 1d4 per caster level, so... deals 2d4 Ice Damage over an area of 10 feet/1 tile
    Shock & Awe - Deduct -4 from a Surprised Creature's Initative Rolls.

    EXTRA Stuff/Unique Feats.

    Princess of Winter: Aurora's offensive (as in damage dealing) spells are limited to ones dealing Ice Damage. As such, all damage dealt from said spells gets +3 points.

    Dragonborn: Aurora gains +2 Damage and Attack rolls against Draconic foes. Also, this character is able to perform 'Dragon Shouts'.

    Dragon Shouts: Using this as her combat action, Aurora can perform one of the Shouts she knows. The user cannot perform Shouts the following round and can only shout 3 times a day.

    FUS-RO-DAH!: A shout. Range of 30ft in any direction. The target must make a DC/Fortitude Save of 30, if they fail, they take 2d6 per two character levels (starts at 4d6, capped at 12d6), are thrown back 50 feet and cannot hear for 5 rounds. Saving means they take half-damage rounded down and are thrown back 25 feet.

    Also, should there be another enemy/person in their 'flight' path, they must make a Reflex save or get hit and sent flying as well to take half-damage.

    Okay, time for feats and skills, yup.

    Feats

    Detect Evil - Martin can perform this ability at will whenever he wishes.

    Smite Evil - Once per day (twice, once he gets to Level 5), Martin may announce he will attempt to smite a foe that is Evil. If so, he adds his CHA modifier to his attack if he hits, deals 1 extra point per level he is, so, 1d8 + 4 extra damage. If the foe is NOT evil, though, the ability has no effect.

    Divine Grace: Martin adds his CHA Modifier (which is 2) to all saving throws.

    Aura of Courage: As long as Martin is conscious, he is immune to all Fear effects/spells/ect. In addition, all allies get a +4 bonus to saving throws against fear if they're within 10ft.

    Divine Health: Martin is immune to all diseases, including supernatural and magical.

    Martin may also pick three feats of his choice.

    Note: Martin does not get spells, nor does he get a Mount at Level 5. He does get other feats to compensate, which will be covered next post.

    EXTRA

    Anti-Magic: Martin, for all purposes is immune to magic, both good or ill. As such, he will automatically fail any magic-related check, such as Spellcraft or Use Magic Device. ...Oh. And he won't be able to make friends with ponies since THAT is magic too.

    Tenacious Attitude: The time Martin would be reduced to 0 HP, he remains on 1HP. All following times, he may make a Fortitude/DC20 roll. If he succeeds, he stays on 1HP, failure means he's unconscious. Each time he succeeds in a day, the DC increases by 5.

    Nobility: Martin gets a 10% Discount on buying things, +2 to Bluff, Intimidate and Knowledge (Nobility) checks and starts with 400 GP.

    [Feats]

    Spontaneous Casting - Iron Amy can 'lose' a spell she has meditated for in exchange for a cure spell that's the same level or lower.

    Turn Undead - Actually, this does damage to undead. Iron Amy can do this 7 times a day. (3+ her CHA modifier)

    -Chosen Feats-

    Dodge - Amy picks an enemy a turn. She gains a +1 AC until the round finishes.

    Mobility - Amy gets +4 Dodge bonus to AC against Attacks of Opportunity when moving out or in a threatened area. Any condition that could cause you to lose your Dexterity means she loses this bonus.

    Improved Initiative - Amy gets a +4 to Initiative rolls.

    Martial Weapon Proficiency: Warhammer - Amy can use Warhammer weapons without penalty.

    [Spells]

    To use a Cleric's spells, she must meditate for 1 full hour a day. At the moment, she can cast FIVE Level 0 spells, THREE Level 1 Spells and TWO Level 2 spells. Because of her WIS score, she gets an extra Level 1, 2, 3 & 4 cast.

    She may pick the Cleric spells that are in in the Good/Chaotic categories.

    [Skills]

    A Cleric's Skills are...

    Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Heal, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (the planes), Profession and Spellcraft.

    Ditzy - Amy suffers a -2 penalty to all INT based checks. She gets one perk for this.

    -Unique Perks-

    Sturdy Construct: Iron Amy gains the following immunities: Poison, Sleep effects, Disease, Nausea, Fatigue, Exhaustion, effects that cause sickened condition, Energy Drain.

    'Artificial Life': Iron Amy cannot heal lethal damage naturally and must be repaired. She is still considered a living creature for the appropriate effects to take place, however, such as dying at -10HP.

    Feats, Skills, EXTRA Stuff~
    ----
    ...He has no real class, so he gets feats every second level instead of every third. So, 4 Feats, plus 3 Bonus Feats from his flaws.

    [Feats]

    Improved Initiative - Joshua gets a +4 to Initiative Rolls.

    Cleave - If Joshua slays a creature (i.e. it hits 0HP or dies) in melee, he can immediately make a melee attack with the same weapon and at the same attack bonus against a creature within attack reach. This ability may be used once per round.

    Great Cleave - The same as Cleave, only there's no limit. If Joshua drops a monster and another's in range, he may attack it and if he kills THAT...you get the idea.

    Power Attack - On his round before making an attack, Just may choose a number to subtract from all melee attacks rolls and add it to his damage (2X damage bonus, using a one-handed weapon with two hands) until his next round. The number X may be no more than his Base Attack Bonus.

    Dodge - Each turn, Joshua may pick a foe and gain a +1 to AC in dodging that foe's attacks.

    Mobility - Joshua gets a +4 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity caused when he moves in or out of said areas. If his DEX Modifier isn't usable (ie, he's flat-footed), he doesn't get this +4 to AC.

    Diehard - ...I think we know what this does by now. :P

    [FREE Feats]

    Weapon Focus - Joshua gets a +1 to all Attack Rolls involving any type of swords.

    Weapon Specialization - Joshua gets +2 to damage rolls if they involve sword-based attacks.

    [SKILLS]

    Joshua's skills consist of Appraise, Balace, Bluff, Climb, Diplomacy, Heal, Hide, Intimidate, Jump, Listen, Move Silently, Search, Sense Motive, Spot, Survival, Swim and Use Rope.

    He gets 4+4 x 4 = 32 + 4 + 24 = 60 Skill points.

    [EXTRA]

    Stick To What You Know - Joshua is restricted to using one-handed swords with two hands. In exchange, he gets Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization for one-handed swords of all types for free.

    Not Exactly Healthy Living - Joshua automatically gets a 6(5, actually.) with his HP die roll. However, he DOES NOT get to add his CON modifier to this total.

    Can't Quite Catch Up - Every 4th Level, where everyone may add +1 to an Attribute, Joshua cannot do so.

    And Then Joshua Was A GM - ...Unless Joshua reaches Level 20, don't worry about this one. <_<

    [FLAWS]

    THE MUNCHKIN GENE - If Joshua rolls a Failure, he may roll again. Regardless of the result, he must take this second roll, for better or worse. (Although if he rolls a 20, he doesn't get a Critical Hit on an attack.)

    Fleet, But Frail - Joshua gains a bonus +2 to his AC, however, he gets 1 less HP every time he levels up.

    Asperger's Syndrome (Modified) - Joshua gets a +4 to a skill of his choice that ignores the Level Cap. However, he suffers a -3 penalty to Sense Motive and Diplomacy checks.

    LUCKY BASTARD - Joshua gains a further +4 to his AC. Although as, a result, he takes a permanent -2 penalty to Diplomacy & Gather Information checks, and a -2 circumstance penalty to Disguise checks since people his luck doesn't extend to people skills or dressing up.

    Comfort Object - Joshua kind of needs his DSi to feel secure in this world (or anywhere else, really). Any time he tries to sleep without it, must make a Will save (DC 10 + half his CHA Modifier) or be fatigued the next day due to a restless night. This fatigue stacks and may result in exhaustion if combined with another fatigue factor. Also, if the object in question is taken away mid-battle, he enters 1d3 rounds of panic. ...He gets one Feat of his Choice for this flaw.

    Verbal Tic - Joshua must speak and act pretty much like his player does. If he fails to do so, horrible...things will happen to him. But funny ones, too. He gets a Feat for this.

    Acrophobia - Basically, See this link. Joshua gets another feat, yup.

    Alright, I'm not going to write up the stats for Sparty's character YET, but I'm going to type up a draft of the stuff and feats he'll get.

    Unique Feats

    Shields Up! - Roland, like Z-082 gets shields, which absorb 6 points of damage before going out. Once damage to the shields has been taken, it takes 3 rounds to charge back up, regardless if they're depleted or not.

    Second Wind - When Roland hits 0 HP, he may make one attack at a -3 Penalty. If his attack kills a target, he goes back to 3 HP and can keep fighting. Fail, and he's down for the count.

    Scorpio Turret: Once per battle, twice a day, Roland can deploy a Scorpio Turret that automatically fires at enemies. This has a reach of 20ft and the target is decided by the GM. Deals 2d6 damage on a hit. Lasts 3 rounds.

    TIER ONE: At Level 2, Roland may pick one of the following Feats for free.

    -Infantry-
    Impact - Adds +2 damage to any of Roland's bullet-based attacks.
    Sentry - The Scorpio Turret is increased to 3d6 damage.

    -Support-
    Defense - Roland's shields start recharging in two turns and fully in 3 turns instead of 4. (Although, if he's hit while they're recharging, the charge is canceled and he takes damage as normal)
    Stockpile - When Roland uses his Ammo-Creation ability, the amount of ammo created becomes 2d10 instead of 1d12.

    -Medic-
    Fitness - Roland gets an extra +2 HP on each level-up.
    Aid-Station - Allies standing near the Scorpio Turret (10ft away) regain 1d6 HP.

    TIER TWO - When Roland reaches Level 5, if he has a Feat selected in Infantry/Support/Medic, he may take a Feat from this list as long as it's in that category, otherwise, he may take another feat from Tier 1.

    -Infantry-
    Metal Storm - Killing an Enemy (does not apply to Second Wind kills) means next round, if Roland is using a 'Burst' weapon, he may fire one extra shot at a -3 penalty.

    -Support-
    Barrage - The Scorpio Turret can target one additional enemy each round.

    -Medic-
    Overload - Each of Roland's weapons can hold 1(for .45 Magnum and Defiler)/2(for the Orion and Hellfire) bullets.

    TIER THREE - When Roland reaches Level 8 (and from then on, Level 11, 14, 17 & 20), he may pick a skill from Tier 3, provided he picked the skills from the two tiers below it.

    -Infantry-
    Assault - See Overload. This effect stacks with Overload, giving +2 & +4 bullets.

    -Support-
    Deploy - Roland can deploy the Scorpio Turret one extra time a day, for a total of 3 times a day.

    -Medic-
    Grit - Roland takes 1 less point of damage from ranged attacks.

    Class Feats.

    Sneak Attack - See Bradman/Aurora. :P

    Fighting Style: Two-Weapon Combat - Louise gains Two-Weapon Fighting as a bonus feat.

    Two-Weapon Fighting - Using the second weapon in her hand, Louise may attack twice, once with each weapon. Her dominate hand suffers a -2 penalty, her offhand suffers a -4 penalty.

    Uncanny Dodge: Louise keeps her Dexterity bonus to AC even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. If she's helpless, the bonus is lost.

    [Chosen Feats]

    Dodge - Each turn, Louise may pick a foe and gain a +1 to AC in dodging that foe's attacks.

    Mobility - Louise gets a +4 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity caused when she moves in or out of said areas. If her DEX Modifier isn't usable (ie, she's flat-footed), she doesn't get this +4 bonus to AC.

    Roofwalker - Louise may perform the three following abilities.

    Fleet of Feet – She may walk across a precarious surface at full speed without a penalty on her Balance check.

    Graceful Drop – If she intentionally jumps from a height, she take less damage than if she'd had fallen. On a successful Jump check, she takes falling damage as if she'd dropped 20’ fewer.

    Master of the Roof – Louise gain a +1 Dodge bonus to AC against any opponent at a different elevation than you.

    Improved Disguise - Louise does not suffer the normal –2 penalty when disguising herself as anohter gener, race, or age category and can don a disguise in half the normal time.

    Superior Touch - Louise gets +1 bonus on Disable Device, Open Lock, and Sleight of Hand checks and a +2 bonus on Spot checks made to pinpoint the location of an Invisible creature.

    -Unique-

    Used to the Elements - Louise's body is used to the elements. As such, she's always under the spell's effect of 'Endure Elements', meaning she doesn't need to roll Fortitude saves in Hot/Cold weather.

    Happy Hour - Once/Twice per day, Louise may choose to consume a bottle of wine/rum/beverage. If so, she gains +2 Morale to all Combat and Charisma checks. If not, nothing happens unless it's been two weeks since a drink, in which case, she suffers a -1 penalty Morale to all checks.

    -Flaws-

    Curious - Whenever Louise encounters something out of the ordinary, she must make a Will Save (DC 10 + 1/2 Character Level) in order to resist approaching the thing and inspecting it. If this happens during combat, she must immediately inspect the object without a Will Save after the battle ends. She gains one Feat for this.

    Comfort Object - The cape Louise possesses is very important to her. Any time she tries to sleep without it, she must make a Will save (DC 10 + half her CHA Modifier) or be fatigued the next day due to a restless night. This fatigue stacks and may result in exhaustion if combined with another fatigue factor. She gets one feat.

    Racial/Special Traits

    Small, but Swift - This character gains a +2 to AC because of her small size and a +4 to all hide checks.

    Sturdy Build? - This character is immune to effects like poison gas or the like, along with a +2 to CON.

    Easy to Maintain - This character only needs to consume sweets and doesn't need to eat anything else. However, the longer she goes without eating candy, the less power she has.

    Likes Following Orders - When following an order, this character gets a plus +2 to Morale checks when doing so. In addition, their personality tends to be a likable one, giving a +2 bonus to Charisma.

    Calculated Targeting - This character automatically gains the ability to use bows, longbows and similar weapons. By taking a -1 to hitting, on a successful hit, this character may add her DEX modifier to the damage she deals, however...

    Sophisticated Grace - Unless the melee weapon is a Polearm or a Knife/Dagger, this character cannot use any sort of melee weapon. To compensate, she automatically gains 'Weapon Focus' & Weapon Finesse for those three melee weapons.
